OPENING NIGHT! That’s right Browns Island for Live Loud Concert series. Opening night was supposed to be that last Saturday in April for “WEEN” but they're canceled. So alas less then a week later we had opening night down at the river. First off for those not aware this is in Richmond Va. Same exact place where they do Folk Festival & River Rock (yearly free events) as well as Friday Cheers which are cheaper shows but also feature less notable acts etc. (Below is Live Louds Concert schedule for the year)

So for Live Loud concerts as well as Friday Cheers there is are season passes. But for now I’m just going to say purchase your tickets at Plan 9 record store in Carytown. It saves about $10 worth of fees then online. Also day of purchases for shows usually bump up about $5-$10.

To be completely honest I really had never heard of the Wood Brothers at all. I remember seeing them on the list of shows for Browns Island but that’s about it. The only reason I wanted to go is because it was very hot out that day. As well as that whole week for end of April/beginning of May. & when its hot out I’m in my peek environment and when its cold I’m really not. Especially when it comes to outside shows. So this seemed like a great opportunity to get supper stoned on a HOT spring evening down at the river and enjoy some music. If it was cold no way I woulda gone to the show let alone eat gummies. So Ray and I planned and meet up at the island entrance (5th street only). I biked and he brought his car. #LocalsOnly

The data in the header and footers correlate. Since Maryland became recreational for Cannabis starting back in July. I try to only eat products from (their) dispensary’s. They are the best, pure, and most exact giving the safest and clean high. Not sketch with the numbers. So we  split a 100 mg bag each eating five 10 mg hybrid gummies. I was fucked up. It’s good stuff man.

Anyhow, We saw the end of the opener which was slight. Decant turn around between sets which I love. So Wood Brothers came on pretty quickly. I believe they played from about 20:30 to 22:10. So about a little over an hour and a half. Solid for the headliner. It was a 3 piece. The drummer I was told was not one of the brothers. The other two members were. Only 1 small screen stage right for viewing. Truthfully the show was very boring. However the music was fantastic. Excellent musicianship which I always respect. I don’t really love folk/bluegrass that much but those guys could play. The crowd was wonderful as well which always is a fun time.

The enjoyment woulda been a 10/10 if it wasn’t for a few things. It hadn’t rained in a while so my allergies were still a little present. Mainly my itchy nose. It rained a lot the following couple days so I was cleansed then. They have a huge water refill station but no hand washing with soap places. Only porta johns which is a huge minus in my book. Other than that amazing evening. Ray was being supper chill. Our friend Tickle was working security in the lawn. I got to see some students at the show which was fun but a little interesting especially because I was high. Saw other friends and locals before, during & after the show! So fun ☺

Music 7:10

Show 5:10

Overall Enjoyment 8:10
